Master's in Industrial Engineering Overview

With UMass Lowell’s Master of Science in Industrial Engineering (MSE), you will learn to master the fundamentals of industrial engineering, develop advanced analytical skills and gain practical experience with industry-standard tools and software used to solve complex engineering problems. You may customize your degree by selecting a concentration in Analytics and Operation, Ergonomics and Safety, Healthcare System Engineering or Manufacturing and Automation.

This program is designed for working professionals in the field, recent engineering graduates, current students interested in the combined Bachelor's to Master's program and those looking to transition into industrial engineering from a related discipline.

The Master of Science (MS) in Industrial Engineering is a 30-credit master’s degree. You may choose a thesis or non-thesis option.

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Designated Program

The Master of Science in Engineering (MSE) in Industrial Engineering at UMass Lowell is a STEM-designated program that builds the technical expertise and problem-solving skills that are in high demand. Graduates are eligible for extended Optional Practical Training (OPT), which allows international students to gain additional work experience in the U.S.
