Applied Biomedical Sciences Minor
Students interested in acquiring knowledge and hands-on skills in clinical, diagnostic, and biomedical research laboratory work can pursue the interdisciplinary minor in Applied Biomedical Sciences offered by the Department of Biomedical & Nutritional Sciences.
To qualify for the Applied Biomedical Sciences minor, students must earn a combined GPA of at least 2.500 in the following courses:
- HSCI.1010 / HSCI.1020 OR BIOL.2520, OR BIOL.1110 / BIOL.1120
- Two semesters of Physiological Chemistry (HSCI.2510 / HSCI.2530 & HSCI.2520 / HSCI.2540) OR Chemistry (CHEM.1210 / CHEM.1230L & CHEM.1220 / CHEM.1240L) with labs.
- Either a biochemistry course (HSCI.3500, BIOL.4190, CHEM.4500), OR cell biology course (e.g., BIOL.2200), OR genetics course (e.g., BIOL.2350).
The minor in Applied Biomedical Sciences consists of at least 18 credits. Students must attain a cumulative GPA of at least 2.500 in their minor courses to earn the minor.
