Undergraduate Mechanical Engineering Lab Complex
This Ball Hall lab complex space is over 2000 sq ft and is divided into 3 separate labs, material science, thermos-fluids, and instrumentation. The lab complex supports numerous classes where students conduct experiments either independently or in groups of 2-3. It is used throughout the undergraduate mechanical engineering degree as well as limited research activities.

Energy & Combustion Research Laboratory (ECRL)
The Energy & Combustion Research Laboratory at the University of Massachusetts Lowell was founded in 2014 and is a part of our campus’s efforts to address important problems facing today’s society – including energy efficiency and climate change. The ECRL investigates how to improve existing technologies like the internal combustion engine and gas turbines through a combined experimental and computational approach.
