Labeling

• All hazardous waste containers shall be labeled with a UMass Lowell hazardous waste label (white with red lettering) and shall include the following information:
• Generator information: name, department, building, room number.
• Contents of container: (no formulas, abbreviations, or trade names. Check section three (3) of your Safety Data Sheet (SDS) sheet for chemical components).
• The associated hazards of the waste (e.g., ignitable, corrosive, reactive or toxic).
• The date the container becomes “Full.” (Hand write specific date on the hazardous waste label and email:: Hazardous_Recieving@uml.edu.)
