Resident Advisors

Resident Advisors (RAs) are student leaders responsible for overseeing a residential community in their assigned area. Resident Advisors provide social and educational programming for their residents, enforce university policy, connect students to resources and serve as an overall support person to help residents with whatever problem or issue they might be facing.

Requirements for the Resident Advisor position include:

  • 2.500 minimum GPA
  • Full time matriculated student status
  • Attend one of the virtual RA information sessions
  • A genuine desire to help residential students by creating and nourishing an inclusive, socially just residence hall community
  • Good standing within the student conduct system as determined by the Office of Residence Life

Office Assistants

Office Assistants work in the staff offices of the residence halls. They support the overall functions of the office by answering telephones, greeting walk-in students, families, or staff, assisting in the distribution of program flyers and marketing materials, performing lock-outs, directing residents to resources as necessary, and assisting with a variety of projects and initiatives. Marketing and Communications Assistants

Marketing and Communications Assistants work along-side our Assistant Director of Communications in showcasing the on-campus student experience. They create social media content, marketing materials and build relationships with students through tabling in and around the residence halls. All skill levels are welcome to join this creative team! Housing Operations Assistants

Housing Operations Assistants work in the central Residence Life office in the Graduate and Professional Studies Center. They support the overall functions of the office by answering telephones, greeting walk-in students, families, or staff, directing residents to resources as necessary, and assisting with a variety of projects and initiatives. Summer Associate

The Residence Life & Family Programs Summer Associate is a full time (during summer only) employment opportunity for UMass Lowell students that supports Residence Life & Family Programs summer processes in the areas of summer residential student support, family programs and family orientation, and Residence Life Central Office front desk coverage. Each Summer Associate will be scheduled to work between all three areas each week and will be cross trained for all functions.

Compensation for the Summer Associate position is (TBA) for office shifts worked, and a free room for the summer intersession and 10 meal per week meal plan for duty shifts worked.
