The Office of Student Activities and Leadership Graduate Fellow positions are here to offer a well-rounded experience during your graduate program. Over the course of two years, the graduate fellows will get direct experience in Programming, Greek Life, Civic Engagement, Student Staff Supervision, Large-scale Event Management, Training development and facilitation, Orientation Programming, and Student Government Association advising.
One Graduate Fellow will work with the Fellow Director for Programming to co-advise the Association for Campus Events (A.C.E.) in overseeing daytime programming sponsored by A.C.E. as well as the Office of Student Activities and Leadership. This will include managing all reservations and event logistics. Additionally, this Graduate Fellow will advise the senior class of the Student Government Association. This Graduate Fellow will also support Civic Engagement initiatives within our Office with the Fellow Director of Greek Life and Civic Engagement. This Graduate Fellow will advise and assist an additional 30+ student organizations by providing program support and coaching student leaders in leadership development.
The second Graduate Fellow with the Fellow Director of Greek Life and Civic Engagement to co-advise Greek Life organizations on campus and co-advise the Executive Board for UML St. Jude which is our largest student organization led fundraiser for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. They will oversee and support Greek Life organizations in areas such as community development, student trainings, programming, alumni relationships, member development, and executive board transition. This Graduate Fellow will also support the Fellow Director for programming with co-advising the Fox Common Student Staff Members as well as supporting large-scale programming on campus. This Graduate Fellow will advise and assist an additional 30+ student organizations by providing program support and coaching student leaders in leadership development.
Both Graduate Fellows will assist in the day-to-day operations of the office including but not limited to answering student questions regarding University policies and processes, creation of event tickets and liability waivers, answering phone calls, and may be asked to perform other related duties as assigned. Additionally, this person(s) will support all major campus traditions including Opening Week, Homecoming, Winter Welcome Week, and Spring Carnival. Some evening, late night, and weekend work is required.
These positions offer on-campus housing and includes a single bedroom within a shared university apartment (shared with one other graduate fellow) and a meal plan during the academic semester.
