There are numerous ways to be involved with our organization! As per our constitution, there are currently 12 Senator At-Large positions and six Senate seats per college.

We hold elections in the beginning of the Fall semester for Senate seats, where the terms last throughout the academic year. During the Spring semester we hold elections for Senate seats along with the Student Trustee and President and Vice President positions. Here's what to expect from each position:

President & Vice President:

  • Guide the Executive Board and Senate with different initiatives and goals for the year
  • Act as the main representatives of the student body to university administration
  • Ensure the success and satisfaction of RiverHawk Nation!

Student Trustee:

  • Represent UMass Lowell on the Board of Trustees of the University of Massachusetts system

Committee Chairs:

  • Oversee their individual committees in terms of their goals, initiatives, and functions for the year.

    3. Governance
    4. Campus Life & Environment
    5. Public Relations & Events

Senators:

  • Act as the backbone of student advocacy on campus
  • Sit on at least two (2) SGA committees
  • Meet with their applicable college Dean once a semester
