From figuring out the shuttle bus schedule to finding help with your Calculus II class, the first days on a new campus – not to mention as an in-person college student – can be a confusing blur.

But never fear: The university is rolling out the blue carpet for students new to campus with student success workshops, campus tours, social events and faculty outreach.

Sophomores as well as new first-year, transfer and graduate students are invited to Convocation and the Engagement Fair, where they can get connected with clubs and learn about other resources. Opening Week is filled with social activities that will also help newcomers learn their way around the campus, ending with a Division I women's soccer game on Sunday evening.

And throughout the fall, the colleges, the Student Government Association, the Career and Co-op Center, the Solution Center and the Centers for Learning, Advising and Student Success (CLASS) will be holding workshops and events to help students make the most of their time at UMass Lowell.

Here’s a guide to some of the most important resources and how to take advantage of them.
