Research
Our Renewable Energy Engineering Program (REEP) encompasses a wide range of research areas, with faculty from the Mechanical & Industrial Engineering Department forming the core of our researchers. Their on-going projects and interests include:
- The Center for Wind Energy, a nationally recognized facility dedicated to advanced wind turbine sciences and systems (Professor Chris Niezrecki is the Center's Director)
- Electrochemical energy generation and storage (Associate Professor Fuqiang Liu)
- Computational and experimental research on the direct use of solar and electrical energy in industrial processes (Associate Professor Juan Pablo Trelles)
- Bio-fuels and clean-burn combustion engines (Associate Professor Hunter Mack)
- Assisted electrochemical energy systems including fuel cells and flow batteries (Associate Ertan Agar)
