Welcome to the Renewable Energy Program at UMass Lowell!
Below you will find some guidance on the courses for which you should register based on the semester you begin your studies. To register, you must use SiS self-service.
It is very important to register as soon as possible, as class sizes are limited. Therefore, once you have decided you will attend UMass Lowell, you should take the necessary steps and register. Should you have any problems with registering, please contact The Solution Center at 978-934-2000 or email: TheSolutionCenter@uml.edu. Should you wish to defer your admission to a future semester, please contact Graduate Admissions at graduate_admissions@uml.edu.
If you are a new Ph.D. student, you should contact your advisor and get his or her guidance on what courses to take.
If you are a new Master's student, then a guide to what courses to take, based on the timing of your first semester, as well as a list of electives, can be found near the bottom of the Energy Engineering Catalog.
Permission Numbers
Sometimes a professor will place restrictions on who can take their course, and during the registration process in SiS, you will be asked for "permission" from that professor. This will be in the form of a six-digit number. You must contact the faculty member listed as teaching the course directly to ask for this "permission number." When doing so, be sure to mention that you are a student in the Energy Engineering Program.
