Interdisciplinary Programs
Interdisciplinary programs draw on courses from across different departments in the university to provide students with opportunities to learn and apply modes of inquiry from multiple disciplines. Interdisciplinary programs are designed to help students explore questions and problems that extend beyond the boundary of any one individual discipline. Faculty from departments all over the university are involved in interdisciplinary approaches to complex issues such as globalization, climate change, education, and many other topics. Inquiry into deeper questions about our society can benefit from the multiple lenses provided by interdisciplinary programs.
The university offers several interdisciplinary majors that allow students to develop interdisciplinary areas as their primary focus of study and more than twenty interdisciplinary minors that allow students to combine an interdisciplinary approach with a discipline-based major.
