University ensembles are open to all enrolled students. Auditions are required for all ensembles with the exception of Marching Band, Pep Band, and Choral Union. Auditions for ensembles take place during the first two to three days of classes each semester. The ensemble audition schedule is posted on the Department of Music ensemble bulletin board located outside room 113 on the first floor of Durgin Hall. All students, music majors AND non-music majors audition for seating placement. At this time auditions for the following non-major instruments are closed: guitar, electric bass, drumset.
Students should prepare a solo work (District/All-State level) when auditioning for classical Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Brass Ensemble or Concert Band.
