Training

General access to the Lin MakerSpace does not require safety training.

If you/your team plan to access some of the available tools and equipment, you will be required to attend one or more of our safety trainings.

General Safety Training is required to rent specific Makerspace tools (i.e., power tools, soldering kits, power tools, etc.).

3D Lab Training is required to operate the 3D printers and laser cutters in the 3D Lab. We also offer a 3D Lab Refresher Training to any student who needs to renew their 3D Lab Training. The refresher is available to any student who has taken the 3D Lab Training in the past 6 months.

Note: General Safety Training must be successfully completed prior to attending 3D Lab Training. You can take both the same day.

Safety Trainings are offered several times a week, on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Summer 2024 Training Sessions

General Safety Training (good for one year) (~45 minutes):

  • Tuesdays at 5 p.m.
    
  • Saturdays at 12 p.m. (starting 9/21)

3D Lab Training (good for four months) (~75 minutes)

  • Mondays and Wednesdays at 5 p.m.
  • Tuesdays at 6 p.m.
  • Saturdays at 1 p.m.

3D Lab Refresher Training (good for four months) (~20 minutes)

• When:
  • Not being offered this semester due to equipment upgrades!
