- Easy Participant Matching: Simply complete the partnership form, and Headlamp's Career Liaison Officers (C-LNOs) will act as external recruiters to match veterans' military experience with your company’s specific needs and UMass Lowell (UML) will upskill as applicable.
- Minimal Time Commitment: Beyond the usual resume review and interviews, companies can help shape curriculum, provide guest speakers, and confirm learning end states for specialized training.
- Internships and Shadow Sessions: You can host internships, shorter shadow sessions or site visits to give participants firsthand exposure to your work environment. No Cost Obligation for Hosting Internships or Shadows. Companies hosting internships do not incur any cost obligations, though stipends are optional. Internships are designed for a minimum commitment of four weeks to ensure value for both parties.
- Customized Training: Outline your company’s personnel needs and specific training goals. Headlamp will identify veterans whose current skills and backgrounds are a strong match for your roles, while UML’s Vets RISE will provide the necessary upskilling to fill any gaps.
- If your company already has a robust training program you can use your own training program and still participate as a partner company. Vets RISE participants will still be required to attend our mandatory weekly professional development sessions at UML. This will be integrated/adapted around your training plan.
- Volunteering, Mentorship and Networking: Engage with participants through career fairs, roundtables, mock interviews, 60-minute guest speaker sessions, and direct mentorship opportunities.
- Internship-to-Hire: If you are interested in hiring direct from the program, you can offer internships with potential full-time roles. There are no guarantees required, but this commitment can help strengthen the pipeline.
