Biosketch
Gabriela Aspilcueta is an international student from Peru. She is in her senior year majoring in Psychology with a minor in Disability Studies. Gabriela believes in the importance of taking care of mental health, specially with a support system. She says “I know by personal experience how difficult and biased taking care of mental health can be. I want to spread awareness and be able to educate my peers about mental health, sexual violence, and substance misuse, and let them know that, as students of UMass Lowell, we are not alone and we have access to different resources within and out of campus. Moreover, I want to create safe spaces for other students where they can express themselves and find comfort in knowing there are students who care about them and might have had similar experiences."
