Yuho Kim, Ph.D., joined the Department of Physical Therapy and Kinesiology in 2020 as an assistant professor. During his postdoctoral training at York University (Advisor: David A. Hood, Ph.D.) and NIH (Advisor: Brian Glancy, Ph.D.), he developed his expertise in the field of muscle physiology with a focus on mitochondria biology. Currently, his research group focuses on understanding the roles of mitochondria in muscle health and diseases and approaches with a combination of molecular, functional, and imaging analyses using cell and animal models. His research group studies therapeutic strategies (drug delivery, exercise, or other treatments) to prevent or correct mitochondria dysfunctions that are linked with neuromuscular disorders, cardiac diseases, or chronic diseases.
