All parking lots at UMass Lowell require a current permit associated with every vehicle when parked before 3 p.m. Student permits have moved to a virtual format and are tied to the license plate of your vehicle. Parking without permit is allowed on the following schedule and locations, but may not park in designated parking (i.e. Service Vehicles, Designated Parking, Cabinet Member, Department Chair, etc.), and must park in legally marked spaces:
- Commuter surface lots (Riverside A, Riverside B, Broadway / Riverview,) open on weekdays at 3 p.m. and all day on weekends. Carpool and other reserved spaces are still enforced until 5 p.m.
- Staff surface lots (Olsen*, Wilder, Upper Mahoney, Moloney, Coburn) open on weekdays at 3:30 p.m. and all day on weekends.
- Faculty and designated lots (Costello / Pinanski and Cumnock) open on weekdays at 5 p.m. and all day on weekends.
Parking in the Fletcher Lot is available to students with current parking permits after 4 p.m. on weekdays, and all day on weekends, for use of University Crossing. In addition the Salem lot is available as well after 5 p.m. on weekdays and all day on weekends. Parking in these two lots may be restricted during major events. Students without a current permit, or those needing to park prior to 5 p.m., must park in the Pawtucket Metered Lot at the posted rates.
*The Olsen Lot is closed weekdays after 10 p.m. and weekends from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. to those without valid staff / faculty decals.
DO NOT attempt to park in a lot if you do not have the privileges listed below, or on the schedule listed above. Even if the gate is open before the schedule listed above, you will be subject to a citation.
