Are you excited about being a part of the Fine Arts, Humanities, or Social Sciences College at UMass Lowell? Are you nervous about meeting new people and transitioning to college life? Join the Fine Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (FAHSS) Living Learning Community to help ease these nerves! Live in the same residence hall as other FAHSS majors to have a better opportunity to meet other students, create study sessions within that hall, and support one another as you transition to college life. Soon you will have a large group of classmates to walk to class with!
The FAHSS LLC also has a dedicated faculty/staff member that is paired to provide further mentorship beyond the classroom, run programs and day trips dedicated to career development, as well as make transitioning to college life more comfortable. Some examples of FAHSS LLC programs could be going to an art gallery or history museum, meeting a local law enforcement official, or having discussions about current events that tie into class work. Programs can be adapted to meet students’ majors and interests.
Dedicated events include but are not limited to the following majors:
- Criminal Justice
- Creative Arts
- Political Science
- Psychology
- Global Languages
