Bhupen Shah is a technology entrepreneur, most recently serving as Vice President of Engineering at Acacia Communications, acquired by Cisco Systems.
Bhupen and Ramika, both recently retired, now enjoy their time with their two sons and daughters-in-law and grandchildren.
They support many charities both in the U.S. and abroad supporting their causes for education and hunger, specifically for children.
Bhupen and Ramika are passionate about UMass Lowell and its students. They have supported the university in a number of ways:
- In 2021, they funded the renovation of Shah Hall.
- Established the Shah Family Endowment Fund for Engineering College scholarships.
- Supported Engineering College Dean's discretionary fund.
- Supported an Emergency Fund for students of UMass Lowell.
- Serves as judge and mentor for the Rist DifferenceMaker program.
