Research collaborations build on UMass Lowell’s traditions of innovation, entrepreneurship, and corporate and community partnerships and create experiential and academic opportunities for students.

UMass Lowell houses a combination of fundamental and unique research equipment and technology which support sports research. Among these are the Baseball Research Center which was founded in 1999 to be a Center of Excellence for the Science and Engineering of Baseball for both experimental and analytical methods.

Research programs and laboratories throughout the campus support sports research both in the human factor and performance and in sporting goods equipment.
