Biosketch
Jim began working in the Career Development Center at UMass Lowell in 2014. He is responsible for advising and coaching students in the Francis College of Engineering (Plastics), instructing a Professional Development Seminar, and building employer relations. Prior to UMass Lowell, Jim spent over 12 years as a Recruiting/HR professional in both agency and corporate settings. Jim has recruited professionals throughout the country in the areas of engineering, information technology, finance, healthcare, and business. His background also consists of business development and employer relations. Jim’s breadth of knowledge about the job market is critical in assisting students with career decisions and choices. He is a proud native of Lowell, Mass., has worked for the Lowell Public School System, and coaches a variety of youth sports.

Jim's strengths lie in the areas of relationship building, career counseling, and teaching. He is passionate about helping others succeed in their goals. Jim’s calculated move into higher education was driven by his desire to help students discover their own goals and aspirations, and being able to pass along the things he has learned throughout his journey.
