Current UMass Lowell engineering students who meet the following criteria are eligible:
- FAFSA demonstrating unmet financial needs close to or at the average
- A minimum GPA of 3.300
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Majoring in an engineering field
- Stated interests and commitments to this cohort-based program, a career in higher education, and in obtaining a graduate degree
Applicants will be asked to write a short 500-word essay on their plans to participate in and support this community of scholars. In the essay, they should establish fulfilling the application criteria. Special consideration will be given to students who have indicated an interest in the proposed activities, who are already conducting research, and from underrepresented populations (e.g., female, African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Native Americans, persons with disabilities, first-generation, rural, veterans). However, all eligible students are encouraged to apply and will be considered.
