UML Arboretum Sustainer Society

Become part of the UML Arboretum Sustainer Society for $10 monthly, or $120 annually. The donations will go towards inspiring research, sustainability, and vibrancy on campus. As a Sustainer, you will receive annual Arboretum grounds tours and acknowledgement of your support, listed on the UMass Lowell Arboretum website.

Name a Campus Tree

Adopt an existing tree on campus for $2,500. Adopting a tree on campus involves the placement of a donor plaque/tag with your name on the selected tree, for a 15-year designation. Classes can also fundraise to adopt a tree as a reunion class gift, in honor of your milestone year. The UMass Lowell Arboretum website will allow donors to view a map of campus, where their tree is located. How the University handles tree maintenance can be read about in our Arboretum Management Policy as outlined in the University of Massachusetts Lowell Arboretum Plan (pdf).

Name a Garden, Grove, or Green Space

Adopt an existing green space on campus starting at $5,000, depending on the size and complexity of the space. Adopting a green space involves the placement of a donor plaque/tag with your name posted in the selected area, for a 15-year designation. Classes can also fundraise to adopt a green space as a class gift in honor of your milestone year. The UMass Lowell Arboretum website will allow donors to view a map of campus, where their green space is located. Adopt a Bench

Adopt a bench on campus for $10,000, which can be paid over a three-year period. Adopting a bench involves the placement of a donor plaque / tag with your name, another's name, or class year posted on the selected bench.

Volunteer Opportunities

Unable to donate at this time? No worries! If you are looking to help in other ways, we offer a range of volunteer opportunities that encompass many interests regarding sustainability. These volunteer opportunities include planting, labeling species, litter pick up, and serving as an Arboretum Ambassador.
