For Issuance of Student Visa Document
International Students must submit “original” financial documentation as listed below to the International Students & Scholars Office prior to the issuance of a student visa document (Form I-20 or Form DS-2019). All International Graduate Students are required to take 9 credits per semester to maintain valid status.
You are required to present financial documentation for one year as per the UMass Lowell International Student Estimate of Expenses in order to be issued a Form I-20 or Form DS-2019. However, you are legally responsible for all educational related costs for the entirety of your education at UMass Lowell.

The tuition and operating fees include the International Fee and the Health Insurance Fee. Please find a breakdown of the Graduate Tuition and Fees.
Living expenses are based on the Graduate Cost of Attendance.
These prices are estimates and subject to change by vote of the UMass Board of Trustees.

- $5,140 additional for each dependent (spouse, child)

Additional fees may apply, depending upon your individual status or the number of courses you enroll in.
*The ISSO requires financial documentation as per the current Estimate of Expenses at the time the Form I-20 or Form DS-2019 visa document is issued
