Verification of Employment And Salary

The University of Massachusetts is now part of The Work Number®, an independent service, which provides our current and former employees and verifiers with rapid verification 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  1. For Proof of Employment or Income, provide your creditor:
    • Access Options for Creditors: visit the The Work Number® website or call: 1-800-367-5690 or 1-800-367-2884.
    • UMass Employer Code: 18128
    • Your Social Security Number
  2. To retrieve an Immigration Support Letter, you need to:
    • Access The Work Number® website and Select Employee Option and then Login
    • UMass Employer Code: 18128
    • Your Username (Username is your SSN - 9 digits, no dashes, no spaces)
    • Your PIN (if first time, use your birth year and last four digits of your SSN)
    • Select Immigration Verification ;Option form Employee Menu
    • Click on Get Verification Button, Print and Logout
  3. Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Form Fulfillment with The WorkNumber

    • Access The Work Number® website and Select Employee Option and then Login
    • UMass Employer Code: 18128
    • Go to "The Letters Center" and click the PDF Icon next to Public Service Loan Forgiveness. 
    • Select Commonwealth of Massachusetts/University of Massachusetts - click Next.
    • Review your prepopulated personal data in five simple steps. 
    • After reviewing your personal information, download and print the form. 
    • An authorized representative's name will appear on the form (from the UMass President’s Office). If an employee attempts to change any information on the PSLF form, the representative's name will be removed, and the employee will need to get a manual signature.

*Note: A Salary key can be created by the employee and handed to a verifier in the rare occurrence that the verifier is not a verifier with The Work Number®.
