Research Interests

Associate Dean Bello is a biomedical scientist with interdisciplinary training and education in analytical and materials chemistry, exposure sciences and chemical toxicology. Over the past 20 years, he has applied his skills to (i) develop methods and tools to document hazardous exposures to toxic chemicals - sensitizers, carcinogens, and mixtures- in the workplace; (ii) prevent occupational diseases in high-risk industries, such as construction; and (iii) promote safe development of emerging technologies and safer-by-design advanced nano/materials utilizing modern concepts in nanotoxicology. His most recent research focuses on PFAS toxicology, ingestion exposures, and translational biomedical research to elucidate the interaction of multiple stressors in health and disease using integrated omics approaches.
