Biosketch
Shelley Barish specializes in production design for theatre with an emphasis on scenic design and secondary specializations in scene painting. Shelley designs actively in Boston at companies including The Lyric Stage Company of Boston (Dear Elizabeth, Becky’s New Car, Camelot, Murder for 2), Wheelock Family Theatre (Matilda), Central Square Theatre (Young Nerds of Color, Pipeline) The Greater Boston Stage Company (The Irish and How They Got That Way, 39 Steps, Little Women), Merrimack Repertory Theatre (A Christmas Carol). Shelley works actively as a designer and scenic artist for numerous other theaters including The Ohio Light Opera, Eastman School of Music, Geva Theatre (Scenic Charge Artist), Berkshire Theatre Festival, Mercury Opera, Boarshead Theatre, Cortland Repertory Theatre and Bristol Valley Theatre. She is an active member of USITT. Recent design credits include Gideon’s Knot (Off-Broadway –Ripple Effect Theatre), Boom, Barefoot in the Park, Next Fall, HMS Pinafore, Urinetown, Born Yesterday, The Real Thing, Der Vogelhandler and the Off-Broadway premier of Mare in the Men’s Room./p>
