Arghavan Louhghalam’s research interests lie in the area of engineering mechanics, physics-constrained data-driven modeling, and applied statistics with particular emphasis on development of smart solutions for resilient and sustainable built environment.

Biosketch
Arghavan Louhghalam, Ph.D., is an associate professor in the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at University of Massachusetts, Lowell (UML). She also holds a research affiliate position in the department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). She was a postdoctoral researcher at MIT before joining University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in 2016, where she served as an assistant professor and later as an associate professor. Louhghalam is a recipient of National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER award and the inaugural college of engineering faculty award for excellence in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Her research on citizen-enabled crowdsourced monitoring of civil infrastructure has been recognized nationally and featured in media outlets.
