How to Become an AMPP Advisee

Advisees play a crucial role in the AMPP program. Advisees partake in workshops every other week. Sessions are focused on activities and discussions that have been worked on by the AMPP team and the advisor participant groups during the previous week.

Michael Olufemi, Applied Biology

“This program provided a structured platform for both my PI and I to enhance our mentor-mentee relationship and this has fostered effective communication, established clear expectations, and promoted researcher independence. I will definitely recommend this to new Ph.D. students.”
Marla Hilderbrand-Chae, Biomedical Engineering
Masoumeh Farhadi Nia, Electrical & Computer Engineering
Seyedeh Henameh Ghaffari, Mechanical Engineering

Corrie McCue, Criminology

“I really enjoyed attending AMPP with my chair/mentor. Through participation in the program, my mentor and I developed a strong and effective form of communication, established clear expectations, and worked together to create a development plan that we both feel comfortable with. I also really liked that the program itself was not a major time commitment as meetings were well structured and conversations with my mentor regarding AMMP “assignments” fit really well into our already established weekly meetings.”
