Congratulations, Future River Hawk!

Congratulations on your acceptance to UMass Lowell! We are excited to have you join our River Hawk community.

Your next steps as a transfer student are all found in your admissions portal:

  • Declare your intent to enroll by registering online.
  • Sign up for a Transfer Registration session to enroll in classes. Registration is open for the spring as soon as you enroll.
  • You can register for events to explore campus further. Including Transfer Welcome Day, which is available once you attend registration. At Transfer Welcome Day you can get your student ID, discover where classrooms are and more!
  • Follow your admitted student checklist to ensure you meet all the additional university requirements.

Declare your Intent to Enroll and Deposit

Declare your intent to enroll by registering online and paying your non-refundable $300 enrollment deposit ($500 for international transfer students). You can submit your deposit online in your Admissions portal or you can mail us a check. If you have a financial hardship please reach out to our office. We encourage you to enroll and deposit as soon as possible.

When paying your non-refundable enrollment deposit UMass Lowell accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express in U.S. dollars. We do not charge any credit card processing fees for the enrollment deposit. This deposit will be a credit on your tuition invoice.

Transfer Credit

The chairperson of the department to which you matriculate will determine the final evaluation of your transfer credit. This will be posted to your portal as soon as it is available.

Transfer Registration

Transfer Registration is required for all accepted students. You will meet with a transfer coordinator who will help you choose courses and provide the most direct path to degree completion. You can sign up for transfer registration after you declare your intent to enroll at UMass Lowell.

Transfer Alliance Program

The Transfer Alliance Program (TAP) is here to help make your transition to UMass Lowell as smooth as possible, ensuring that you get everything you need to be successful from the start. When you join TAP, for your entire first semester, you’ll be paired with a transfer student who has already successfully transitioned to the UMass Lowell community. You'll also have access to success workshops, faculty and alumni networking opportunities and more.
