Achieving Clean and Sustainable Energy is one of the World's Grand Challenges
In UMass Lowell's Center for Energy Innovation, companies, faculty, and students are working together to research solutions addressing this challenge.
Our interdisciplinary faculty members, hailing from 11 departments across campus, lead the way in research at every stage of the energy lifecycle. Our research touches upon everything from clean energy generation to energy distribution and storage, usage and sustainability, all the way to managing energy byproducts and waste, reintegrating energy byproducts into new energy sources once again. We also study each of these aspects of energy in the context of society, from energy policy and economics to energy equity and environmental justice.
