Federal Work Study and UMass Lowell Student Employment programs provide part-time employment to eligible students with financial need. This allows students to earn money to assist with the cost of education. Students must complete a FAFSA and meet the minimum eligibility requirements to be considered for need based employment.
Federal Work Study
Federally subsidized student employment program that provides students the ability to earn money to assist with educational expenses.
- Eligibility determined by demonstrated financial need
- Enrollment of at least half-time status
- Must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
- Opportunities may be on-campus, off-campus, including community service opportunities
- Award amounts vary, and actual earnings are paid through a bi-weekly payroll
UMass Lowell Student Employment Program
Institutional student employment program that provides students the ability to earn money to assist with educational expenses.
- Eligibility determined by demonstrated financial need
- Enrollment of at least half-time status
- Must complete FAFSA
- Opportunities may be on-campus, off-campus, including community service opportunities
- Award amounts vary, and actual earnings are paid through a bi-weekly payroll
