Immersive Scholars (ONLY)

Immersive Scholar Terms and Conditions

If you have held a job on campus prior to participating in the Immersive Scholar Work Experience program, you only need to complete the Immersive Scholars Terms and Conditions form which can be found on your JobHawk dashboard.

For advice on Form W-4 / M-4, please consult a family member or a tax advisor. University representatives are prohibited from providing students advice on completing Form W-4 / M-4.

Form I-9

All New Student* Employees must complete the I-9 Form.

  • The link to the I-9 form will be sent to your UMass Lowell (UML) email.
  • A student must complete section 1 of the Form I-9 using the link in the email you receive.
  • Once you have completed Section 1, Section 2 must be completed by Student Employment staff either before or within three business days of your start date (see note below for international students). Visit your JobHawk dashboard to access the link to make an appointment with Student Employment to present required documents. Ensure you have the proper unexpired documentation as outlined on the List of Acceptable Documents on the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services website for this meeting. This appointment can take place remotely or in-person.
  • Students will need to have original, unexpired documents from the list of Acceptable IDs to complete Form I-9 before section 2 of Form I-9 can be completed. These can also be found on the List of Acceptable Documents on the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services website.
    • Zoom appointments require that you upload your documents to the Form I-9 prior to the meeting.

*For international students only: After completing Section 1, Section 2 must be completed by Human Resources staff. Schedule your remote I-9 Section 2 verification either before or within three business days on your start date using our online scheduler. Ensure you have the proper unexpired documentation as outlined on the List of Acceptable Documents on the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services website for this meeting.
