Before this Assistant Professor position, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Washington working with Maya Cakmak in the Human-Centered Robotics Lab. I received my Ph.D. from Purdue University advised by Juan P. Wachs. My research interests focus on Human-Robot Interaction (HRI), facilitating interactions between robots and humans by developing robotic systems with a user-centered approach; this approach draws from an interdisciplinary intersection between robotics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, assistive technologies and human-centered design.
