Jade received her Bachelor of Science in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and a Minor in Writing from Northeastern University. As an undergraduate research assistant, she measured local eelgrass wasting disease and eastern oyster boring sponge. After graduating, she was a Teaching and Resident Assistant at the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL) for their undergraduate course, Semester in Environmental Science. She was also a post-baccalaureate research fellow at the Plum Island Ecosystems Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) site in Rowley, Massachusetts where she investigated salt marsh resiliency and restoration. Currently, Jade is a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) student in Assistant Professor Sarah Gignoux-Wolfsohn’s lab at UMass Lowell, studying oyster microbiome carryover effects driven by repeated exposure to environmental stressors.
