Biosketch
Prior to beginning her teaching career, Shanna Thompson was the Human Resources Coordinator and Manager of Training and Development of a minority owned bank in the city of New Orleans. She began her teaching career as a high school mathematics teacher for a magnet high school in New Orleans. She also worked as a Mathematics Teaching Associate for the Classic Upward Bound Summer Program at the University of New Orleans. She then moved to San Francisco and continued teaching high school mathematics for another three years in a continuation high school, an alternative program for youth who are at-risk of not graduating. Shanna has also served as a tutor of mathematics and various other subjects for more than 20 years. Shanna is currently the Center for Program Evaluation manager as well as an adjunct professor for several departments.
