The Massachusetts Alliance for Space Technology and Sciences (MASTS) is a consortium of universities, colleges and corporations working to develop advancements in the emerging small satellite industry. Working together, MASTS partners will contribute to scientific and technical discoveries, accelerate the introduction of new technologies, and create a thriving economic environment which will support growing businesses and train a talented workforce in the region.
The consortium will focus on communications and remote sensing technologies that are vital to the performance of small satellites and satellite constellations. MASTS collaborators have key strengths in optics and optical sensors, electronics, communications, space systems, satellite operations and data analyses.
With new state-of-the-art facilities and specialized equipment coming soon to UMass Lowell, MASTS will be better positioned to innovate, test and accelerate technology for development and commercialization. These new spaces will provide a “living lab” for scientists to collaborate more efficiently.
