Biosketch

Robert Henning is an associate professor in psychology at UConn-Storrs, and co-director of a graduate certificate program in occupational health psychology. He is a certified professional ergonomist with a background in psychology, biomedical engineering, industrial engineering (human factors) and psychophysiology. His systems approach to occupational safety and health is guided by cybernetic principles of behavioral self-regulation. He also has studied how social interaction can benefit the productivity and well being of data entry workers. His present research focuses on the social psychophysiology of teamwork; he supervises research on design of participatory ergonomics programs to promote the use of patient lifting devices, and on development of a survey instrument for evaluating and improving the effectiveness of participatory programs.
