Apply to join UMass Lowell’s delegation to the United Nations Climate Conference in Belém, Brazil
UMass Lowell is an official ‘Observer Organization’ to the United Nations (UN) climate negotiations and sends a delegation to the UN climate negotiations and conference, or ‘Conference of Parties’ (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
The 30th Conference of Parties, ‘COP30,’ will be held in November 2025 in Belém, Brazil. COP30 promises to be an exciting event that brings together policymakers, scientists, innovators, educators, advocates, and the media from around the world.
The Climate Change Initiative and Rist Institute for Sustainability and Energy are excited to send a small group of faculty members and students to COP30 to represent UMass Lowell at this major international conference and negotiations focused on climate action.
Please submit the COP30 application by May 9, 2025 if you would like to join our delegation. By completing this application, you agree to commit to attending and, as a representative of UMass Lowell, abiding by the COP rules of attendance.
Financial support will be available for a minimum of two student attendees. Faculty and staff are expected to cover expenses to attend, including transportation, accommodations and food. These vary by location and faculty and staff are expected to do due diligence in this regard before applying.
