Biosketch

Mitra Das, Ph.D. recently finished a book, "Between Two Cultures", which documents the resettlement issues experienced by Cambodian women who came to this country as refugees. Her earlier books include "From Nation to Nation: A Case Study of Bengali Independence and Technology", and "Values and Society: Social Factors in Technological Change". She is working on two new projects; one that reviews family changes as evident in the legal cases decided in court and the second that examines the effects of development on women in the Indian subcontinent. Das hopes to extend her study to the experiences of other immigrants who have migrated from her native India.
