After working as Pricing Analyst/Business Analyst since 2008, Cyndy devoted her time to Autism after her son’s diagnosis in 2005. She quickly transformed from overwhelmed parent to a fierce autism advocate and peer mentor. Over the past few years, she synthesized the most valuable information and resources and founded Kenya Autism Alliance, a community intervention model to help create autism awareness, acceptance, and inclusion through advocacy, outreach & support. She helps connect parents with each other, appropriate resources such as schools, doctors, therapists, etc. She provides training and workshops on a variety of topics via LIVE zoom sessions with the help of various professionals locally and globally. In 2018, she was nominated for a Humanitarian Award for her distinguished work with Autism Spectrum Disorder children and adults. In addition, she is also the pioneer of “Light it up Blue” a community-based movement started in 2017 in collaboration with the Lowell Police Department. She draws from this broad background and shares lessons learned while helping other parents become empowered members of their children’s planning teams. When she's not speaking about, writing about Autism, she can be found critiquing resumes and detailing cars as she’s obsessed! Cyndy is the author of “Whispers of the Heart, a mini book of poems.” She lives in Massachusetts with her husband and two children.
