Biosketch
Elissa Magnant, J.D. is a Visiting Instructor of Management and Business Ethics in the Robert J. Manning School of Business at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Elissa received her J.D. from Western New England College, her B.A. in History and Political Science from the University of Connecticut, and has practiced law since 1995. Prior to owning her own law and mediation practice, Elissa’s career included work in a consumer bankruptcy law firm, litigation for a larger insurance defense law firm, and clerk appointments for three Federal Judges. Elissa has held major ownership interests in two family businesses: a 25 million dollar per year distributorship of scientific equipment, and a local franchise of an international chain. Elissa currently serves as Faculty Advisor for the Manning Women in Business initiative, as a Faculty Transfer Student Advisor and is a Founding Faculty Advisor of the MSB Management Society. Elissa teaches Business Ethics to undergraduate students in both traditional and online classroom formats.
