As spring semester winds down, students across campus are gearing up for a strong finish. Whether they’re wrapping up projects and papers or studying for exams, there’s plenty of support on campus to help River Hawks get across the finish line.

Here’s a roundup of resources that may come in handy to keep River Hawks soaring into the summer and beyond.

Centers for Learning and Academic Support Services

More than 80 peer tutors are available to help you study a wide range of subjects at the Centers for Learning and Academic Support Services (CLASS) at four locations across campus. And it’s free! CLASS also provides professional and peer advising on everything from academic planning to preparation for graduate school, as well as sessions on effective study skills.

Students work together at The Writing Center

The Writing Center

The Writing Center offers one-on-one peer and professional tutoring for graduate, undergraduate and multilingual students from any major and for any writing assignment. Tutors work with students on all stages of the writing process, from brainstorming and planning to drafting and revising.

Eat Well

Steer clear of foods and drinks that are high in sugar and choose whole grains, veggies, fruits and proteins for longer-lasting energy and mental focus. There are lots of healthy choices at UML's dining halls and retail locations. You can even meet the dietician for advice.

Recharge

Make space in your day to take a breather. Spend time in the Serenity Center at University Crossing, take a yoga class at the Campus Recreation Center, join a campus religious group for prayer or use a meditation app.

Stay Active

Exercise can relieve stress and boost blood flow to the brain. Visit the Campus Recreation Center, where you can use the indoor track, basketball courts and cardio equipment, take a fitness class or kick a soccer ball on the turf across the street. On South Campus, visit the Riverview Fitness Center. Or just get outside and take a walk with a friend, or go for a bike ride.

Get Healthy

If you feel sick, visit Health Services. Students have free access to first aid for injuries as well as diagnosis and treatment of illnesses like sore throats and mono. The office is staffed with nurse practitioners and registered nurses.
