Oprah Winfrey is bringing her wisdom to Merrimack Valley.
The philanthropist, producer, and actress will participate in A Conversation With Oprah Winfrey at University of Massachusetts Lowell as part of the university’s Chancellor’s Speaker Series, which “brings individuals at the top of their respective fields to speak to students and the community while raising funds for student scholarships,” according to a press release.
The event will be held on Nov. 15, at 7 p.m. at the Tsongas Center, and will be moderated by UMass Lowell Chancellor Jacquie Moloney.
“This is an incredible opportunity for the UMass Lowell community and the public to hear from one of the most renowned and admired public figures of our time,” Moloney said in the release. “It is also fitting that, as one of the world’s greatest philanthropists, Oprah’s visit will raise funds for scholarships that will benefit students for years to come.”
Winfrey’s visit marks the third edition of the school’s Chancellor Speaker Series. Previous talks have been given by author Stephen King and actress Meryl Streep.
Tickets to Winfrey’s talk will go on sale to UMass Lowell students, employees, and alumni on Friday at 10 a.m. and to the public on Monday at 10 a.m. Ticket prices range from $125 to $250 for general admission and cost $50 for students.
