UMass Lowell is an official Observer Organization to the United Nations (UN) climate negotiations and sends a delegation to the UN climate negotiations and conference, or Conference of Parties (COP) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

The 30th Conference of Parties, COP30, will be held in November 2025 in Belém, Brazil. COP30 promises to be an exciting event that brings together policymakers, scientists, innovators, educators, advocates and the media from around the world.

The Climate Change Initiative and Rist Institute for Sustainability and Energy are excited to send a small group of faculty members and students to COP30 to represent UMass Lowell (UML) at this major international conference and negotiations focused on climate action. COP30 will be held in Belém, Brazil, from November 10, 2025, through November 21, 2025. Observers' travel will be no longer than 7 days.
