The Office of Research Development (ORD) is hosting the Career Planning and Resources for Mid-Career Faculty sessions virtually on February 20 and March 6 from 11 a.m – 12 p.m. Register to attend.

In this two-part career planning session, ORD will talk about how to envision and manage your path from associate professor to full. In part 1 on Feb 20, we’ll discuss the common mid-career slump, usually created by an imbalance in the distribution of your time and energy toward service and teaching. We’ll not only discuss how to keep your research agenda on track toward promotion, but how to engage in activities that will help you transition into leadership roles on campus. You’ll learn and discuss best practices with your peers and develop a plan. In part 2 on March 6, you’ll share your plan in breakout rooms and swap suggestions with fellow faculty. While it is not mandatory, we encourage participants to attend both sessions.
