Dear Campus Community,
In December, plans to restructure the Office of Brand, Communications & Creative Strategy were announced as part of a campus-wide effort to enhance operational efficiency and reduce the fiscal year 2025 budget gap.
As a result, 10 positions within BCCS were eliminated, and the department has been restructured. These decisions were incredibly difficult, but were necessary for our strategic path forward.
I am confident that despite these changes, BCCS will continue to deliver the highest quality communications, content and marketing strategies.
I’m pleased to announce that Sarah Corbett has agreed to lead the department as senior executive director. Her vision and leadership will be pivotal as we navigate this new chapter.
Sarah will soon be reaching out to our academic colleges and administrative areas to discuss how BCCS can best continue to support and collaborate across the campus. Given the smaller staff and necessity to focus efforts on enrollment growth, I ask the campus to work in partnership with BCCS to prioritize projects and identify new ways of achieving desired outcomes.
Thank you for your continued dedication and support during this transitional period.
Sincerely,
Julie Chen
Chancellor
