November Community Thursdays Event with Cornerstone Capacities!

Join the Center for Community Research & Engagement for our next Community Thursdays event on Thursday, 11/21 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at 150 Wilder Street. Our featured organization is Cornerstone Capacities, the non-profit arm of Cornerstone Global LLC. Of note for our campus community, UMass Lowell Global Studies graduate Cecilia Idika-Kalu is one of the founders of this new venture!

Cornerstone Capacities provides a variety of supports for k- 12 youth, including financial aid to help them participate in athletics, access to mental health services, IT trainings, and online tutors. Their mission is to transform individuals, organizations and communities. They were recently awarded a grant from the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center to support women and minority businesses in Lowell by training them and providing access to the expertise needed for building and organizational capacity needed to succeed in clean energy.

Faculty, staff, and students are invited to learn more about the vital work of Cornerstone Capacities and the types of collaborations they are interested in forming with our UMass Lowell community.

There are amazing people doing important work in our community, both on and off campus. Join us for this informal conversation to talk about how we can support each other and collaborate to improve the lives of everyone in our community.
