The Office of the Provost is pleased to help support tenured or tenure-track Faculty members with the opportunity to participate in the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (NCFDD) Faculty Success Program, which helps tenure-track and tenured faculty cultivate the skills necessary to increase research and writing productivity while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. We have sponsored a total of 28 faculty members since Spring 2022, and the feedback we are receiving has been very positive

  • Better manage your time spent on teaching, service, research, and writing so that it aligns with your goals.
  • Identify obstacles that are holding you back and strategies to move through them.

Faculty Testimonials on the Faculty Success Program:

“I'm happy to report that the program increased my productivity (one accepted peer-reviewed article, two R&Rs, and one book chapter with graduate students), and I also learned (hands-on) skills to help with work-life balance. Overall, I highly recommend this program to anyone wanting to improve their productivity through mentorship and accountability while maintaining a healthy work-life balance”.
Joselyne Chenane Nkogo, Associate Professor, School of Criminology and Justice Studies

“The Faculty Success Program is amazing. Having a weekly accountability group has forced me to prioritize my writing and research. I have already revised one manuscript and am researching journals to submit it to now. I really think that this is a great resource especially for new faculty members. We have done strategic planning setting goals for both professional and personal lives as well as map out our goals into weekly chunks”.
Phitsamay Uy, Associate Professor, College of Education

“The program does provide concrete steps that are helping me advance both my personal and professional, while also working towards a work-life balance. I am very glad I am able to participate in the program thus far.”
Kelilah Wolkowicz, Assistant Professor, Mechanical Engineering

“I’m really impressed will all of the individualized attention and support. I can see how we’ll be setting new habits that will definitely pay off by the end of the program.”
Natalie Steinel, Associate Professor, Biological Sciences
