ABSTRACT: A robust body of literature has examined the effect of pornography use on human behavior, especially the role of pornography influencing the perpetration of sexual assault. Despite many studies looking at the link between sexual assault perpetration and pornography use, little-to-no research to date has explored sexual assault survivors’ pornography use and how their psychological and sexual wellbeing may be affected by pornography. This study will use mixed methods, survey data and interviews, to (1) explore the relationship between pornography use and survivor sexual scripts, and (2) examine how survivors' pornography use and sexual scripts are associated with their psychological and sexual wellbeing. The proposed study is an important contribution to victimology due to focusing on wellbeing outcomes of victim-survivors specifically in the context of pornography.
